DIMENSION makes additional investment in Turing, a developer of fully autonomous vehicles utilizing generative AI

DIMENSION Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Takamitsu Miyaso; hereafter, DIMENSION) announces that it has made additional investment in Turing, Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Kazunari Yamamoto; hereafter, Turing), which is engaged in the development of fully autonomous vehicles utilizing generative AI.

Turing, a startup company established in August 2021, is dedicated to developing fully autonomous vehicles. The company constructs systems where AI makes all driving decisions, such as steering, braking, and acceleration, solely based on data acquired from cameras. By leveraging its in-house developed multimodal generative AI, “Heron,” Turing aims to build a system that can ethically respond to situations not reflected in driving data to achieve Level 5 fully autonomous driving, which is difficult to reach with rules-based approaches.

DIMENSION has decided to make an additional investment following the previous seed round, in response to the execution capabilities of Turing’s management team, which has consistently achieved development milestones since the company’s inception, and by its ability to attract top talent excited by the company’s allure. Amid the emergence of startups dealing with autonomous vehicles in the United States and China, Turing aims to go beyond by realizing a more convenient and safer car society with Japanese technology. Through this added investment, we support Turing’s goal of achieving “fully autonomous driving originating from Japan.”

We will continue to invest in and support entrepreneurs who are dedicated and sincere in their management efforts.
